Familiar Objects, Considered Slightly Differently
arrow_backTil oversigten7. august 2025 | DESIGNSTUFF
Though homes are made up of many spaces, we often find ourselves spending the most time in the kitchen. And within this zone, we interact with the same objects daily — pieces we may take for granted, but which are pivotal to the rhythm of routine.
Many have come to accept the utilitarian nature of these items. But this doesn’t have to be the case. From a desire to see better, more beautiful pieces in the home, we created our Kitchen Essentials range.
This collection isn’t about novelty. It’s about refinement, offering well-resolved design to bring a quiet sense of enjoyment to even the most mundane kitchen tasks.
A Case for the Everyday
When something is used regularly, it deserves thoughtful attention in colour, function, and form. The simple joy of interacting with an object that’s been carefully considered has an outsized impact on how we experience our day.
That’s the thinking embedded into every piece in the collection. Whether it’s the gently curved lip of the Bubble Tray, the way the Silicone Dish Brush rests seamlessly within the Store-All Holder, or the soft arch of the Dish Drainer cradling plates as they dry, each element has undergone intentional refinement.
These are familiar motions, scrubbing, rinsing, and drying, made better through small design decisions. In that way, the range doesn’t disrupt habit, it supports it.
With this consideration comes a kind of positive design rhythm; a gentle flow within the repetition of daily chores. This rhythm, in turn, creates calm, delivered through resolved forms and honest materiality.
Materials and Tones
The collection is built from soft-touch silicone, powder-coated steel, and matte finishes, chosen not only for their durability in wet zones, but for their visual and tactile appeal. These materials feel as good as they function.
These are materials often found in the home, but rarely treated with this level of intention. By elevating the familiar, the range creates quiet consistency across everyday moments.
Tonal and muted, the colour palette is designed to sit within the home, not dominate it. It supports integration across styles, rather than imposing one.
This material and tonal consistency also extends into adjacent categories, including the ARC bathroom range, allowing for visual cohesion across kitchen, laundry, and bath.
Restraint as a Design Tool
We’ve taken a deliberately restrained approach to the range, removing superfluous features and decorative flourishes in favour of familiar silhouettes and high function.
The familiarity is intentional. It allows for immediate understanding, but the difference lies in the way these objects have been resolved. Nothing loud. Just subtle improvements that make sense in hand and on bench.
This decision leads to cleaner, calmer spaces. It also allows each piece to integrate naturally into a variety of interiors, regardless of style direction.
There’s a subtle modularity to the collection, too. Trays provide a base for sponges and containers. Mats create soft landings for heavier objects. While each piece holds its own, the system works even better in combination.
And finally, every item has been designed with lasting relevance in mind. Not through buzzwords or gimmicks, but through simple, functional endurance. With care, these are pieces to be used for years to come.
A Return to the Familiar.
We didn’t try to reinvent the kitchen. We focused on what was already there, and how to make it better. Through small improvements in form, function, and material, this collection turns overlooked essentials into design decisions. If you’re curious to see the full range, we’re here to share it.
